Credits

Credits are how AppX meters AI work. You spend them when the AI builds something — generating screens or applying an edit. Reading your code, previewing on your phone, and chatting without making a change are all free.

The simplest way to understand cost: watch the credit meter. It updates live as the AI works, so you always see what a turn cost before you commit to the next one.

Generation is per-screen

A new app is priced by how many screens it produces. A 3-screen app costs about 3 credits; a 6-screen app costs about 6. You're charged only for screens that successfully build — if a screen fails to generate, that screen is automatically refunded. You never pay for output you didn't get.

Edits are metered, not flat

A chat edit costs based on how much work it actually takes — a one-line color tweak sits near the 1-credit minimum, while a larger multi-file change costs a bit more. There's no fixed price per edit; the meter reflects real usage.

Retries within a turn are free

If the AI needs a couple of internal attempts to get an edit right within a single turn, those iterations are included. You pay for the turn, not for each attempt inside it.

Reserve, then settle

Credits are reserved up front when a turn starts and settled when it finishes:

  • Succeeds → the reserved credits are spent.
  • Fails (an error, a screen that didn't build) → the reservation is refunded.
  • You cancel an edit before it lands → refunded. You only pay for edits you keep.

This is why your balance may dip mid-turn and then bounce back — that's a reservation being released, not a charge.

Plans and monthly credits

Every plan includes a pool of credits that resets at the start of each billing month. Monthly credits don't roll over.

Annual billing saves roughly 10%. See Plans & Pricing for the full comparison.

Running low? Top up

On any paid plan you can buy a top-up that stacks on your monthly credits:

  • $5 → 60 credits

Top-ups are there for the months you build more than usual — no need to jump a plan tier for one busy week.

Checking your balance

Your balance lives in the top corner of the dashboard, and the live meter in the chat panel shows what the current turn is costing as it runs. That meter is the most reliable cost signal — better than guessing from a price table, because edits are metered.

FAQ

What counts as a "failed" screen? A screen the AI couldn't produce working code for. It's refunded automatically — you only pay for screens that land.

I cancelled an edit. Was I charged? No. Cancelled edits are refunded in full.

Do credits roll over month to month? No. Monthly credits reset on your billing date. Top-up credits stick around until you use them.

Why did my balance go down and then back up? Credits are reserved when a turn starts and refunded if it fails or you cancel. That's the dip-and-recover you saw.
